New Theme: Renewal

First of all, am I the only one who still thinks about the “year” in terms of the school year? I haven’t been on any type of school schedule in YEARS, and yet, I think of this time of year as us being close to some sort of finish line. In case you didn’t know, it’s officially March 1st. While January was 67 years long, February was only one week long, so it all balances out in the end. There is an energy so very present this time of year - a force that keeps us moving toward the light at the end of a very long, dark, and cold tunnel.

Y’all - I’m talking about Spring and Renewal. When I think about Renewal, a lot comes to mind. I think about newness, and I think about opportunities to start over, but actually the word itself refers to a return to something. Every year at this time, I feel like I’m returning to myself. I’m slowly peeling off the layers of clothing, I’m starting to air out the house, and much like the pretty flowers that are starting to cautiously peek their heads out from beneath the cold ground, I am returning to a happier version of who I am.

This time of year is when I really dig deep in focusing on my resolutions I made for the year. I’ve had two months to really make sure they are in good shape, and now I’m ready to put them into action. With March having two full moons, we have double the energy supply to dip into, so I suggest that we use it to focus inward, realign ourselves inside and out, and get ready to show the rest of 2018 who is boss.
